Voting Time - Golden Archer Awards 2009

The time is coming near for students in grades K-2 to vote for their favorite Golden Archer book. The final book will be read this week, Chester by Melanie Watts, and then every student in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will get to vote for the one book they liked the best.

Students have been asked to think about which book had the characters they liked the best, which book had the illustrations they liked the best and which book they overall liked the best.

Once every student at Clovis Grove has voted, then we send in our totals and wait until all the votes are added together before we find out the winning Golden Archer book for the whole state of Wisconsin.

Last year the winner was Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! by Mo Willems. Who will it be this year?

Clovis Grove Battle of the Books

Last week we held the Clovis Grove Battle of the Books. Three teams competed but only one team could be the winner at Clovis Grove. Our winning team is made up of four 5th grade boys!
Check the window outside the library for pictures of the teams that participated in Battle of the Books.

These boys will continue to practice trivia about the book and will take a practice battle before the battle against all the other winning teams in Wisconsin. In the final battle the boys will have 30 minutes to answer 25 questions about the books they have read.

Good Luck!!!
